Face mask production process

Face masks can be described as the most commonly used necessities. Due to the sharp increase in demand, masks have become the world's most in short supply.

Let ’s take a look at our mask production process.

Raw materials needed for mask production

1.Disposable medical mask. The body of the mask is generally a three-layer structure. All three layers are made of non-woven fabric. Non-woven fabrics are also called non-woven fabrics. Our environmentally-friendly shopping bags and facial masks are often made of non-woven fabrics.

To respond to the new coronavirus-infected pneumonia epidemic, this type of medical mask with at least three layers is acceptable, and neither double-layer nor single-layer is acceptable.

Ordinary woven or knitted fabrics have a flat interlaced structure, which makes it difficult to effectively shield and filter fine dust particles. The three-dimensional non-woven fabric with microporous structure has become the best raw material for making masks.

Non-woven fabrics have a variety of processes such as needle punching, impregnation, spunlace, spunbond, and meltblown. The innermost and outermost layers of masks generally use ordinary spunbond non-woven fabrics.

The spunlace non-woven fabric is used as the innermost layer, and the fibers are impacted with a very fine stream of water to form a network structure. The ultra-fine fibers formed in this way have good softness and are not easy to cause sensitivity when directly contacted with the skin.

The most important thing is the middle layer of meltblown non-woven fabric.

Although there are several production processes for non-woven fabrics, after testing, only the non-woven fabrics made by melt-blown method can achieve the ideal filtration efficiency index. The cost of meltblown nonwovens is generally about 5 times that of ordinary nonwovens.

Melt-blown method uses non-toxic and odorless polypropylene particles (PP plastic), which is a reinforced cloth formed by melt extrusion, fiber formation, fiber cooling, and network formation.

These ultrafine fibers are collected on a drum to form a web.

Reinforced by self-adhesion.

Mask manufacturing process:

Under the cooperation of division of labor, mask factories generally do not produce non-woven fabrics by themselves.

After preparing enough non-woven fabrics, you also need two machines, a film making machine (production mask body), and a spot welding machine with outer ears, and you can start production. Send all three layers of non-woven fabric to the inlet cover body sheeter.

Press the non-woven side into the nose pad. This bendable structure can make the mask and the face fit more closely, and the material can be metal wire or plastic strip.

It can also be folded with such new bearings.

The non-woven fabric after wrinkle formation is flattened by a roller.

Cut to a fixed size and a mask body is ready.

Non-woven fabrics will be used for edging around to avoid loosening during use.

The mask bodies are connected again.

Cut after hemming

To form a complete mask, you also need a spot welder with external ears, which secures the ear ropes by hot pressing.

After quality inspection, it can be put on the market.
