How to use water-based ink?

1. Mostly used in reverse printing

General water-based gravure ink has the characteristics of no light, ash and low density. It is mostly used in printing in printing, which can achieve the characteristics of clear text, complete dots, strong color development, and distinct layers.

2. Appropriate shallow version

On the one hand, the water-based system causes the ink to have the rheological characteristics of Newtonian fluid, and the ink transfer amount is more than 15% larger than the solvent-based ink; on the other hand, the aqueous ink has a high solid content, and the thickness of the dried ink film in the same area can be smaller. Therefore, it is recommended to sculpt lighter ink holes with the same surface area.

3. Add defoamer

Water-based inks are weakly alkaline, and bubbles are more likely to be generated than solvent-based inks during printing. Quality defects such as white spots and trachoma appear on printed products, so about 1% of defoamers can be added.

4. Control the drying temperature

Water-based ink is mainly based on volatile drying, and is equipped with a certain reaction drying. The resolubility of the dried ink film is worse than that of the solvent-based ink. Therefore, the temperature control of hot air is very important. If the temperature is too low, the ink surface layer is dry, but the internal drying is not transparent, and the reverse adhesion occurs during color registration. The temperature is too high, and the ink drying speed is fast, the dry ink layer can no longer be dissolved in water, and cleaning is difficult.

5. Don't mix

Water-based ink can not be mixed with other solvent ink, otherwise, it will cause quality problems.

6. Add corresponding additives

Because both alcohol and amine are volatile, the PH value of the ink is easy to change. During the printing process, it is necessary to pay attention to the frequent addition of corresponding additives.
