As the heart of the printing press, ceramic anilox roller has become an excellent substitute for metal chrome-plated anilox roller. It has quantitative ink transfer, uniform ink layer, clear dot printing, and wear resistance with doctor blade,and it advantage is incomparable with metal anilox roller.The metering function of the anilox roller: on the one hand, the amount of ink'change can be obtained by changing the number of anilox rolls; on the other hand, for the same line number of anilox rolls, it is also possible to change the depth of the cells or Change the ratio of the cell opening to the mesh wall to get different ink loading.

In order to ensure the normal use of ceramic anilox rolls in daily production, users must understand and master the correct cleaning and maintenance methods of anilox rolls. The following are instructions for cleaning and maintenance and precautions written specifically for printing users:

一、Precautions of the anilox roller using:

1. Since the ceramic layer is a hard metal oxide layer of chromium oxide, the hardness is up to HV1300. It is well known that the object with high hardness is relatively brittle, so the ceramic anilox roller must avoid hard objects and hard local impact. Therefore,it is avoid the wrench , screws and other items fall into the anilox roller and the ink roller in the using . Once the anilox roller damaged, the entire anilox roller will have to be refurbished, can not be partially repaired, because the ceramic layer and mesh carving are For one-time forming, the local repair is that the surface is not flat in first, and the second is that the mesh is gone, and the printing is leaky.

2. It is necessary to check whether there is oil on the roller surface, and the foreign matter blocks the mesh, etc.before installing the anilox roller.  To ensure that the roller surface is clean and tidy, so as to avoid the poor ink transmission and affect the quality of the printed product.

3. During the installation process, the bearing cannot be tapped on the shaft(anilox roller). It is best to use a special bearing removal tool. The high precision of the bearing installation directly leads to the accuracy of the roller body operation. Many printing malfunctions such as uneven contact pressure of the printing plate, uneven color before and after, uneven printing, etc., it has relationship with bearing mounting accuracy, bearing damage and poor lubrication are very large.

4. It must be Replace the new doctor blade when you want change new anilox roller . When the machine is used, the tangential direction of the scraper and the pressed contact is generally 30-40 degrees. Under the premise of ensuring normal ink transfer, the contact pressure is as small as possible, and the line pressure is generally 2.8. -5.6 g/cm. Under normal pressure, there is a very thin ink film between the knife and the roll surface,it is not allowed to riction between the doctor blade and the roll surface in a dry state. Under normal circumstances, the new scraper and the new anilox roll must be guaranteed to have a running-in time of 2-3 hours.

5. The quality of the ink directly affects the service life of the anilox roller. After the resin particles are dry, it is a fatal injury to the anilox roller. Filtering should be added.

6. The cleanliness of the factory water is also one of the important reasons affecting the service life of the anilox roller. The tap water used for normal production should be filtered by the filter from the source of the workshop. Once it enters the production water, the impurities in the water will cause scratches on the anilox roller in the doctor blade system.

7. The surface of the cardboard is not clean (the steel grit powder of the cardboard production line is dropped on the cardboard) or the paper mill increases the weight of the cardboard due to sand mixing, and at the same time, since the current carton is mostly an automatic logistics paper feeding system, reduce the risk of manual paper jitter. Although the paper-feeding part passes through the dust-removing brush and then enters the printing section, it still brings in hard small particles, which are also one of the culprit causing scratches.

* Doctor blade pressure and the pressure of the rubber roller should be used in the normal pressure values specified by the printing equipment manufacturer. Do not increase the pressure to achieve a certain purpose.

* The ink in the ink chamber of the squeegee system should be cleaned in time when it is idle, avoiding dry knots. Both the doctor blade and the sealing blade need to be wiped back and forth with cotton cloth, which can also improve the service life of the doctor blade, especially is plastic doctor blade. The user should pay special attention to the sealing knife, because it is fixed on the anilox roller, so if there is impurity embedded between the anilox roller and the sealing knife, it will always exist and the mesh wall of the anilox roller will be scratched. It will has theScratches and affect the printing after a few hours.

二、The maintenance of ceramic anilox roller is divided into daily cleaning and periodic cleaning ,maintenance

1. Daily cleaning: Normally,  it can be stopped machine after the ink on the anilox roller should be cleaned with clean water every day . In the event of an emergency shutdown, the anilox roller must be cleaned immediately after startup. The ink is dry and fast, and it is easy to plug the net if it is not cleaned in time. Once the printed matter is found to have a drop in ink volume, whitening, uneven ink, and reduced density, this should be the relationship between the anilox roll being clogged or improperly cleaned.If the blockage is found portion, it is brushed with a wire brush and a special anilox roller cleaning agent. The special wire brush for the ceramic anilox roller is a stainless steel wire brush, and the diameter must be less than 0.076 mm. Otherwise, the wire is too thick to extend into the mesh, and the wire is used at the same time. The brush must be circled with a 360 degree brush so that the wire can be turned into the bottom of the mesh. There are many kinds of special cleaning agents, and the cleaning effect is different. It is best to consult the anilox roller manufacturer or ink supplier when purchasing.

2. Periodic cleaning: Because the resin particles of water-based ink are larger and the dry-knot speed of ink is faster.Many times, because the carton factory operators do not clean in time, the bottom of the mesh will slowly dry and block, and the normal carton factory must arrange a thorough anilox roller cleaning and maintenance within two months. Due to the long size of the carton printing roller, it is inconvenient to disassemble and assemble. Generally, it is selected to be directly cleaned on the machine. Apply a layer of super softener for the anilox roller evenly on the surface of the ceramic roller. After the film is fully dissolved for 20 minutes, brush it with a wire brush and then rinse it with water. If some parts are not cleaned, it can be washed repeatedly several times.Attention should also be paid to the protection of the offset plate and the rubber roller when you are cleaning . If the daily cleaning work is done well, the frequency of cycle cleaning can be reduced. In view of the seriousness of many high-networked anilox roller plugs, you can choose to remove the anilox roller and clean it by ultrasonic, or provide on-line laser cleaning service (relatively high cost).

Regarding the special cleaning agent, the PH should not be too high or too low, because the ceramic anilox roller is basically a seamless steel pipe, and the corrosive liquid frequently contacts the anilox roller, which Corrosion and rust on the substrate will cause the anilox roller to bubbling.

三、 Storage of anilox rolls:

Most factories have stocks for the replaced. The unused anilox rolls are cleaned with a fiber-free cloth to dry the roll surface, and then the dry air is used to dry the moisture to ensure that there is no water in the mesh. Residues, while the roll surface can not be wrapped with a gas-tight film such as PET, preferably wrapped in a layer of paper towels, wrapped in old felt outside and placed in a wooden box, moisture and oil. Otherwise, long-term placement will inevitably lead to a shorter life of the anilox roller.
