Precautions for rubber rollers and repair methods for rubber roller surface damage
The rubber roller is a roller-shaped product made of metal or other materials as the roller core, and the outer surface is covered with rubber and vulcanized. Widely used in papermaking, printing and dyeing, film, printing and other industries. According to different product production process requirements, different rubber materials and surface treatment processes are used. Common rubbers such as nitrile rubber, polyurethane rubber, silicone rubber, etc.
In the daily use of the rubber roller, it should be used in accordance with the technical requirements of the product at the factory and the corresponding rubber roller specifications. Pay special attention to the effects of temperature, pressure, radiation and other related parameters.
1.Roller surface cleaning
Roller surface cleaning During the production day, the roller surface is routinely operated. For example, when there is something dirty on theroller surface, try to use alcohol or water to clean the cleaning surface without damage to the rubber surface. If it is not cleaned for a long time, the surface of the rubber roller will be uneven. The light side will affect the use, and the heavy side will cause damage to related materials and equipment. Therefore, clean the surface of the rubber roller especially when it is not turned on;
2. Bearing lubrication
The bearings of rubber rollers are divided into two-end linkage and double-end linkage at both ends. Regardless of whether an oil-sealed bearing or an open bearing is used, keeping the bearing well lubricated can avoid the increase of bearing running resistance and the risk of damage to the roller surface. Due to the lack of lubrication of the bearing and the damage to the roller surface, special attention should be paid to the use of liquid silicone rubber surface products, because the liquid silicone rubber is brittle and easy to crack during pressure changes. Such as in the film stretching industry due to bearing deadlock, this situation is prone to occur;
3. Storage of rubber rollers
The rubber roller rubber layer is generally an elastomer, and the long-term pressure of the rubber surface should be avoided to prevent the deformation of the rubber roller during storage. When storing, it should be straightly placed at the journal, and the surfaces should not touch each other or other items to avoid deformation of the rubber roller. Rubber rollers should not be stored near large motors and generators. The large amount of ozone generated by these equipment will cause the surface of the rubber roller to age and crack;
4.New rubber roller
Do not put the newly cast rubber roller into service immediately. Because the internal structure of the newly cast rubber roller is not stable enough, put it into use immediately, and it is easy to reduce the service life. It is recommended that the new rubber roller should be placed for a period of time to keep the rubber roller relatively stable after it contacts the external temperature and humidity. This can increase the toughness of the colloid and improve the durability effect;
When a small area of damage occurs during the production of the surface of the rubber roller, comprehensive evaluation can be performed. Some can be repaired online, such as corona rollers in the double-stretch film industry (BOPP, BOPET). In case of improper mechanical damage, you can choose whether to repair online according to the urgency of the production and the impact on the production process. There are two commonly used repair methods, namely the glue method and the cooked method:
1. Adhesive repair method:
The hardness of the rubber block repaired by viscose should be similar to that of the original roller surface. First use a knife opening at the damaged part of the rubber roller and cut into square or rectangular holes. Be careful not to cut the bottom rubber during the cutting process. The upper opening of the incision should be about 1mm smaller than the bottom surface, and then cut the rubber patch slightly larger than the hole according to the size of the pit. Use a wooden file to file around and under the patch to change its roughness and facilitate bonding. Then use the corresponding adhesive to apply glue to the pits and repair blocks. A certain amount of pressure is applied to press the patches into the pit. After the glue is fixed, surface treatment is performed. If necessary, grind the rubber surface off-line.
2. Ripening repair method:
Local damage to the surface of the rubber roller can be repaired with a knife to make it easy to repair. Then use a wooden file to burr the surface to be repaired, and then clean the defect with a cleaning agent. The cleaner can be pure gasoline, that is, 97 # gasoline or other Similar cleaners. When it is dry, apply a pre-made adhesive. The "raw rubber" of the same quality as the rubber roller without being vulcanized is heated to a plastic state, and then the filling is filled with the defect and compacted, and the filling slightly protrudes from the roller surface. Next, an electric soldering iron or iron is used to heat the compartment (arc bronze plate) appropriately and evenly, so that the "green rubber" is cured (vulcanized) and fused with the rubber layer on the roller surface. The heating temperature depends on the hardness of the rubber surface of the rubber roller and the depth of the defect. At the same time, it is related to the temperature performance of the rubber layer material. Because it is manual operation, the quantitative control depends on the experience of the worker, and there is a certain degree of instability. After a certain period of time heating and pressure repair, the raw rubber curing and bonding process is completed. After the feed material has matured and cooled, use a knife and a wooden file to file and repair it to make it smooth and smooth and then reuse it. If necessary, use wire surface polishing or surface coating treatment.
